Bitten by Both Sisters — Episode 3: Bite Before Bed

Jonah crosses the threshold and orders himself to keep his gaze on Katarina's face. Her confession comes quickly: she was in the woods that night, and she was the one who carried Daniel there. She will not say whether she killed him. She only tells Jonah that Daniel once looked at her exactly like this, and that he has the same eyes. Her skin is cold as stone, and the moment her fingers brush his silver ring, it burns her.

Rule two of the hunter's trade: never take it off. Jonah takes it off anyway, as Daniel did. 'Look at me. All of me.' Every rule he lives by says run, and he has no wish to. There is no heartbeat under his hands, only his own, hammering for both of them. Then chapter three of Bitten by Both Sisters lands its warning: every man Katarina takes to bed dies, and only one more bite can save him.
