I Belong to a Witch — Episode 1: Don’t Let Her In

Chapter one of I Belong to a Witch opens on a quiet Halloween night. Three decades ago, Darius died in this town, and someone brought him back. Now the paramedic marks the anniversary alone, with a cupcake on the table and Duke, his old dog, at his feet. A voice message breaks the calm with a strange warning: whatever happens, don't let her in.

Then the bell rings. On the porch waits a red-haired witch in black lace and a pointed hat, a single rose in her hand. Morgana knows his name and teases him like a lover from another life. Darius laughs, points her to the party two houses down and locks the door. The plot turns a heartbeat later, when rose petals spiral up from his candle flame and she is suddenly standing in his kitchen. He orders her out. She only smiles: 'Careful, love… my roses have thorns.'
